“Life Is Too Short” I spent Shs75m on plastic surgery to look good – Zarinah Hassan

Ugandan socialite Zarinah Hassan Ntale, popularly known as Zari, has opened up about her decision to undergo plastic surgery, expressing no regrets about enhancing her appearance.

During a press conference this week, Zari revealed that she has had cosmetic procedures to improve her waist and teeth, investing $20,000 (about Shs75 million) in the process.

Explaining her decision, Zari emphasized the importance of enjoying life and feeling good about oneself. “I do this to look nice. Why shouldn’t I look nice? The money we make will take care of our children and will also be spent on other people. Life is too short. We shall all die and leave the money behind, so let’s enjoy it while we are still breathing,” she said.

At 43, Zari has often faced criticism on social media from those who accuse her of using cosmetic enhancements to maintain a youthful appearance. Despite the backlash, she remains unfazed.

In a 2022 interview with Tanzanian press, Zari addressed her critics, attributing their negativity to envy. “I’m very beautiful, and I think these are just bitter women who don’t believe in themselves, projecting their insecurities on me. You guys are seeing me live, and I am very pretty. You can’t hide it—if you are old, you are old. But in person, I even look much better than my Instagram pictures,” she stated confidently.
