Catherine Kusasira joined a growing list of celebrated figures that love Winnie Nwagi because of her outspoken personality.
While others like Buganda Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga, songstress Sheebah Karungi, and Presidential Advisor Amelia Anne Kyambadde have only expressed love for Nwagi because of being forthright and talented, Kusasira also praised Nwagi’s beauty.
“Nwagi is a good-looking girl. If I were a man, I would have married her. I love her. I like her ways. She calls a dog, a dog. And that’s me. If you come after me, I retaliate in equal measure… That’s why I like her ways… She is real,” Kusasira said in a video seen by this reporter.
Speaking on Nwagi, Kyambadde, who is a former minister of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, said: “First of all, she sings well; secondly, she is resilient. No matter how much she is abused, she doesn’t mind. I like strong people.”
On her part, Karungi said: “I like people who are straightforward and frank. And I know Ugandans like people like that. So, when you see people, sometimes they are not fake, but being true to yourself is not for everyone. Women who are tough that they don’t wait for the approval.”
She added: “I know what bothers you most about Winnie [Nwagi], she doesn’t like being boxed in. And that’s what disturbs you about me. You want to control our lives, but we have refused. Winnie and I have refused, why? We’ve come from where we’ve come, we’ve done what we’ve done, [so you have to let us] live our lives because we are old people.”
