Musician Gereson Wabuyi, better known as Gravity Omutujju, said he has more hit songs than Juliana Kanyomozi. According to Omutujju, Kanyomozi may have more songs than he has, but his songs have been hits compared to hers.
However, he acknowledged that his nemeses Jose Chameleone and Bobi Wine have more hit songs than him. “I’m not on Chameleone’s level… he has more hits than me; he is not my friend, I don’t try to associate with him, but he has more hit songs than me. Bobi Wine also has more hit songs. [Radio and Weasel] also have more hit songs than me. David [Lutalo] also has more hit songs,” Omutujju said while appearing on Sanyuka TV.
“Juliana Kanyomozi [doesn’t have more hits than me]… There is a difference between having many songs and having hit songs… I have produced serious jams, it’s just that people will always want to undermine my efforts.”
In October last year, he went on a rampage, calling out established musicians in the industry for sidelining upcoming talent and even ranked himself the top artiste in the country at some point.
Then social media turned guns toward him and he relented, calling a media conference to claim his words were being misconstrued. He even cried at the press conference.
Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool later told him to take time and master his craft and that’s the only way he will earn the respect of elders in the industry.
