Kamuli police are actively searching for a 34-year-old woman, Suzan Namuganza, who is accused of severing her husband’s genitals.
The victim, Kawubanya Moses, 45, is the director of Serena Children’s Home and a resident of Busana Zone, Nabirumba Ward, Nabwigulu Subcounty in Kamuli District. According to the police, the incident occurred on Monday, June 10, 2024, at around 3:00 am.
Initial investigations reveal that when the couple’s three-month-old baby started crying, Namuganza woke up. Moses believed she was going to get milk for the baby, but she returned and allegedly attacked him, severing his genitals.
ASP Michael Kasadha, spokesperson for the Busoga North Regional Police, confirmed the incident. “We have launched a serious manhunt for Suzan Namuganza, who is accused of attempting to murder her husband by cutting off his genitals,” said Kasadha.
Moses managed to run to a neighbor for help, who then rushed him to Kamuli General Hospital for medical attention.
Namuganza is alleged to have fled with an unspecified amount of money. A report has been filed at Kamuli Central Police Station (CPS). Kasadha stated that further inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
