I helped a friend in need, Nakazibwe on her relationship with Bruno K

Media personality Faridah Nakazibwe has said her friendship with Bruno Kiggundu, better known as Bruno K, took off when the singer was facing parenting challenges and she was in position to help.

Nakazibwe started staying with the crooner’s daughter, Brielle, after the mother, Rachael Nasasira, suffered a long-term health condition. She died in December 2021.

“Bruno became my friend promising he’s going to sing a song titled Faridah. We became friends when he needed help with a child. Young man. He is single. When he told me my baby mama is sick and they are going to give me my child to stay with her.

I asked him, what are you going to do with the kid? Are you going to live with her in your situation? You have nowhere to start from, you may not even know how to cook. bring her here,” Nakazibwe said in an interview with Nasif TV.

“When they brought the baby, she is so sweet, very adorable. My children liked her a lot, I liked her. She heard by kids calling me mummy and she also started calling me mummy… so, when the mother died, she now knows me as mummy.”

In the ‘Faridah’ song, whose video is filled with the news anchor’s pictures, with a YouTube caption saying the song is dedicated to her, the lyrics come across as if they are in an intimate relationship.

“The things that gave me sleepless nights disappeared when I met you,” Bruno K sings. “You helped me and accepted to marry me. You help me get rid of teddy bears. When I met you, baby, you turned my life so amazing… Faridah, my love… you have a lot of love.”

During the interview, Nakazibwe, 37, said they are just friends. “Yes, it’s possible,” she responded when she was asked if a man and a woman can just be friends. “Aren’t I in the same position?”

Nakazibwe, who has two daughters with an engineer named Engineer Dan Nankunda, said that it is easy for people to misrepresent her in the media because her status does not allow her to comment on everything.

“People go through different situations. Things happen to them. It is normal,” she said. “The difference is that for me I’m seen everywhere… You see me and think you know me. But I may not publicly declare my problems because I have an image to protect. and there are people who look up to me, so I don’t want to betray them.”

Reports that Nakazibwe was dating Bruno K started making rounds after the news anchor separated from her ex-husband Dr Umar Ssali, whom she married after her short-lived relationship with Al Hajji Moses Kigongo, the vice chairperson of the ruling National Resistance Movement political party.
