Uganda Family Holds Funeral Service For 3 Members Who Died in Multi-Car Accident

As the new year begins with gusto for many, a family in Uganda painfully bid farewell to three of their family members who perished in a road accident on the Kampala-Mityana Road. The funeral service was held at the All Saints Cathedral, Uganda.
n emotional funeral ceremony for Ulrich Kamurasi Mugamba, 31, Elly Winyi Mugamba, 23, and Tara Mugamba, 21, was held at the All Saints Cathedral. Trio died on the spot Speaking during the sombre ceremony, Rev Canon Rebecca Margret Nyegenye, the provost of All Saints Cathedral, encouraged the mourners to “be strong” during the difficult period.
“It’s rare to have a service like this one,” she said, as reported by Daily Monitor. Ulrich, Elly and Tara will be laid to rest today, January 2, at their parents’ home in Bwigamiro in Fort Portal. The deceased were returning from the western town of Fort Portal when a semi-trailer rammed into their Toyota Wish. They died on the spot.
Accident survivor fighting for her life The trio, who were relatives of retired Supreme Court Judge Paul Mugamba and High Court Judge Jeanne Rwakakooko,
met their deaths while headed back from the village after the festivities. Elly and Tara are blood siblings while Urick was their cousin. Urick’s sister, who was also in the vehicle when the accident occurred, is fighting for her life.
“The accident involved four motor vehicles, including a semi-trailer, a Toyota Wish, a Toyota Hilux, a Toyota Harrier, and two motorcycles,” traffic police spokesperson Faridah Nampiima said.
