I’m A Fighter and I’m Not Threatened By Words: Gen. Otafiire Warns Gen. Muhoozi

Internal Affairs Minister, Maj Gen RTD Kahinda Otafiire has warned Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba against any further remarks against him.

For some time now, the two generals have been trading words. Otafiire insists that President Yoweri Museveni will extend his rule beyond 2026 while Muhoozi and those in support of his bid think it is the 48-year-old’s turn to occupy State House.

Speaking on CBS Radio recently, Otafiire said: “For me, i feel okay when people like Bobi Wine (Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the Party President, National Unity Platform – NUP) are making such political statements because i know that there is no law that prevents them from doing so but as an army officer that’s unacceptable.”

Otafiire insists that he is a fighter who cannot be threatened by Gen Muhoozi. On Tuesday, Gen Muhoozi through his twitter handle threatened to crash Gen Otafiire, teaching him a lesson.

But Otafiire says that they went to the bush in 1980 to fight against impunity and that it is regrettable that the four-star general is spewing impunity.

He explains that Gen. Muhoozi is legally not allowed to comment on partisan politics as he is doing and he (Muhoozi) has to be brought to book. He blasted Gen Muhoozi for accusing them (old guards) of wanting to continue staying in power. According to Otafiire, Muhoozi is equally harassing his own father – Museveni.  He boasted that the NRM party is ready to crash anyone against Museveni’s continued rule, even if it is Museveni’s family member.
