In a recently published opinion article, veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda disclosed that he is not a homosexual. In his defence, he also disclosed for the first time that he has a 19-year old son called Michael.
Sources within the MK project intimated to theGrapevine that Muwenda was forced by Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaa to make those revelations after he (Muhoozi) started to feel uncomfortable associating with a person many Ugandans considered a homosexual.
Within the MK project, Mwenda is its publicity head. He is deputised by regional spokespersons like Hon. David Kabanda and Tamale Mirundi.
For many years, Mwenda has been defending homosexuals. He even once went to court and challenged the anti-homosexuality law which parliament had passed.
As a result, the court annulled the law. Parliament has since passed a new law.
