Rema reveals what she found attractive in Eddy Kenzo

“And I liked his honesty. He won’t smile if he doesn’t want to smile. He was honest and that’s what I liked about him. He was real. There wasn’t anything fake about him… I like honest people. I like real people… I like that kind of person.”

Rema and Kenzo were together for some six years and their breakup became public in 2019. In a recent interview, the public came to know about two years after splitting.

“Most of you didn’t know about [the breakup] because people around me protect my secrets,” said Rema.

“And it wasn’t just one year… it was about like two years…”

The Ngonze hitmaker moved in with Kenzo around 2013 when she severed ties with her former boss and music manager Bebe Cool. Kenzo sired with her a daughter named Aamal Musuuza.

Meanwhile, Rema told Crystal Newman that she wouldn’t wish to see her daughter involved in the entertainment industry and that Kenzo is the only artiste she ever dated.

“He was the only one I dated in the industry,” she said. “… I don’t even want my daughter to join the industry… I want her to grow away from the industry… I don’t even want her to know that singing is good… I will occupy her with other things.”

Rema left Kenzo for Dr. Hamza Ssebunya whom she introduced to her relatives in November 2019 in a ceremony held in Nabbingo on Masaka Road.

Businessman Godfrey Kirumira, who was the chairman of the introduction ceremony, said in April that they are planning a wedding.
